The
College is permanently affiliated to Dibrugarh
University for providing higher education of Under-
Graduate Courses leading to Bachelor of Arts. The
duration of the courses of study is three years. At the
end of each year a University Examination is held and
the college holds various internal tests to determine
eligibility for the University Examinations. Given
overleaf is the break-up of papers per

Student who fails to clear any of examinations at
the end of an academic session are not allowed to sit in
the next higher examination. But they are allowed to
continue with the course uninterrupted. The English
Major students are not required to appear in the General
English papers. Similarly, Assamese Major students are
not required to appear in the MIL (Assamese) papers. A
student offering Major (Honours) in a subject is not
allowed to offer Functional English as a core subject. A
student offering English as Major Subject is required to
take another Core Subject not involving practical as
Core-II in lieu of the two papers of General English.
Similarly, a student who is offering Assamese as a Major
subject is required to take two papers in Additional
Assamese 'as Core-II in lieu of the Assamese' (MIL)
papers.. |

| FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH: |
|
|
Functional English is a vocational subject.
Keeping in view its job prospects in the present
competitive employment market, this subject is
introduced in the college with the financial assistance
from the UGC so as to equip the students with
communicative knowledge of English in mass media. This
subject may be offered as one of the two core subjects
to be chosen out by a B.A. student pursuing general
course. The coordinator of the course is Dr. B.K Doley,
M.A., Ph.D., Head, Department of English. Dr. Doley may
be contacted for offering the subject. |

| DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER
APPLICATION: |

The
course is introduced to equip the students with basic
knowledge of computer operation. Every student of the
college, therefore, is expected to compulsorily learn
how to operate a computer. It is a self-financing
course. For admission into the course, students may
contact the course coordinator of the course.
